You could argue that I've no right to ask this question and of course you would be right. But my purpose is to make you THINK a bit before you jump into buying a 2 weeks trip to Iceland because it is special and it needs special visitors too! A Few Questions Let me ask you a few simple questions: - Do you love nature?
- Are you an outdoor person?
- Do you love adventure?
- Are you okay with all kinds of weather and temperature?
- Do you like wide open spaces?
- Do you like the countryside?
- Do you love silence?
- Are you comfortable in boots and heavy clothing?
If you can answer most of these questions with a big "YES", then you definitely are the kind of special visitor we need. You see... it's simple.... this is what we have to offer! This is what makes Iceland different from many other destinations. What Iceland Does Not Offer We don't offer large cities. We cannot promise you sunny weather and 20°C for every day of your trip. Not even 15°C or 10°C. We don't have 5 star hotels to offer all over the country. In fact, we don't even have a 5 star hotel anywhere (but we do have 4* :-)). So, the bottom line is... if you crave constant sunny weather of 20°-30°C, luxury hotels and big, big malls all over - you probably wouldn't feel at home in Iceland. What Iceland Does Offer But if you are ready for our unique nature and adventure opportunities, ready to believe in elves and trolls and even to enjoy gravel roads at times, ready for heavy rain in the morning and sun in the afternoon, ready for our wide open spaces and silences... then I'm convinced you are the right person to visit Iceland! |
